This year in Alicante the annual Brass music festival celebrated the very best brass musicians from around the globe. In its seventh year the events programme featured many very fine jazz performances.
The official website states that the 7th International Summer Brass Festival Alicante “ is organised by the Brass Academy Alicante, in collaboration with the Government of the City of Alicante.”
The organisers announced that “This year we also have the presence of distinguished brass teachers from: London Symphony Orchestra, Munich Philharmonic Orchestra, Tonhalle Zürich Orchestra , Philharmonic Orchestra Colón Theatre Buenos Aires, Vienna Brass and great soloists who will be teaching our participants.”
Throughout the event which was held from the 8th to the 14th July 2018 a large audience gathered each afternoon and evening to enjoy the wonderful live music featuring talented brass players from this very unique section of the orchestra, with its fantastic versatility and range.
The superb quality tunes blended perfectly with all busy visitors dressed up for a night out sitting at elegant bistro bars unwinding with their tapas and glasses of the local wine in the splendour of the 16th century town hall square in the atmospheric old town area.
There were opportunities to embrace the much loved metal instruments craft and learn from experienced and accomplished players. “Join us this summer in the beautiful Spanish city of Alicante, where you will receive individual coaching from members of the Brass Academy Alicante. The Festival will include individual classes on technique, brass ensembles, orchestral and solo repertoire, and the possibility of performing in the final concert.”
This festival can be recommended as an excellent time to enjoy a fabulous Spanish city in the summer season. A great way to relax and unwind and benefit from experiencing some well known, new and exciting tunes, whilst appreciating the architecture and ambience of fine Spanish dining and culture.
